5 Ways to Make Your Website More Credible

You have a great product (or service) to offer your customers. That means you should have no problem acquiring new customers from your website. Right? Not exactly. If your website doesn’t appear credible to your potential customer, they will have second thoughts about doing business with you.  Here are a few helpful ways to make your website appear more credible to your visitors.

1. Include Social Media Icons on Your Site

One of the first things your visitors will look for is your Facebook, Twitter or Google+ page. Make sure your social media icons actually link to an active page. Often times, some people will have social media displayed on their website, but it will lead to an inactive page. It’s important that you’re engaging with your friends and followers regularly – not just once in a blue moon. People will judge your business based on how you interact with others through social media.

2. Include ‘All’ Contact Information

Many website owners will neglect putting their phone numbers and email addresses on their websites because they fear spam or telemarketing calls. It is important to provide your visitors with as much contact information as possible. If you don’t want to use your physical address, at least provide people with a phone number and email address.

3. Include an SSL Certificate

SSL simply stands for ‘Secure Sockets Layer. It is also referred to as a Digital Certificate. This certificate helps to prevent hackers from stealing private information, such as credit card numbers, addresses, names, etc. An SSL certificate is considered a symbol of your company’s trustworthiness. It shows your visitors that you provide a safe environment for them to conduct business.

4. Include Video

Adding video to your website can help make your website more interactive. This can be a mini-video infomercial about your company or even be a video testimonial.

5. Add Live Chat

One great way to increase credibility on a website is to include live chat.  Customers can contact you with any questions or concerns they may have about without sending an email or picking up the phone. Just make sure you include your hours of availability. That way, if a customer contacts you after hours, they won’t assume your customer service lacking.
