Mobile Design Tips for Brick-and-Mortar Stores in NYC

Do you own a brick and mortar store, such as a boutique, restaurant, electronics store, salon, auto repair shop or other type of store in New York City?  If so, there are a few mobile design tips to consider for your mobile shoppers.   In this article, we’re going to share a few ways mobile design can help enhance your business online.

Include a 'click-to-call' option.

People shouldn't have to search around your mobile site for your phone number.  Make sure you have a click-to-call button on the home page – in addition to your contact page. If a mobile site doesn’t have a clickable call button, there should at least be clickable text available for people to click and call. There is nothing more time-consuming than landing on a page that doesn't have a clickable phone number.

Keep it your mobile design simple as possible.

Remember, you're designing specifically for mobile users - they have a smaller screen. So, you'll want to keep your design as simplified as possible. It should be a breeze navigating your website from a Smartphone or tablet. Make sure you include the pages that you want people to visit first. For example, your services page, contact page, etc. If you own a restaurant, you’ll want to include a menu or catering page.

Google map your location.

The easiest way to map your store location is connect your mobile site to Google maps mapping features. This will make it easier for people to find your location. People should be able to Google your location at any time.
